Issues adding points in Potlatch 2 -- Correction of similar bug # #4275
Comments
Author: Richard Could you confirm if this is still the case, and if so, provide a URL (i.e. containing lat/long of your editing location) where it occurs? |
Author: techlady Replying to [ticket:4275 techlady]:
The problem seems to happen everywhere, but he last place I have edited is around Twin Lakes, New Mexico (http://www.openstreetmap.org/edit?lat=35.7091&lon=-108.7659&zoom=14), especially Bass Lake Road. --C |
Author: stevage I get that behaviour when Flash is running low on resources. Are any of the POI icons missing as well? Does restarting the whole browser help? |
Author: techlady 3/8 morning I also have noticed another distinction in the problems I am having. I now can add new ways (and the points to create them), but I cannot add a point to an existing way. This is true for all kinds of ways, including railroads. |
Author: Richard Could you confirm what Flash Player version you're using? http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html will tell you (look for the long number by the red arrow, part of step 2). |
Author: Richard Closing as no further reports or response to request for FP version. Strongly suspect it was an old version of FP involved. |
Author: Ollie I'm seeing exactly the same issue - I can't shift-click to add nodes to existing ways, but can add new ways and move nodes fine. I've seen this for a few weeks, i.e. since around the time of the front page redesign. I am using Chrome on a Mac and the latest version of FP. I've been getting around it by deleting ways and adding new ones in with my desired extra nodes, but this is obviously not ideal! Google Chrome 18.0.1025.168 (Official Build 134367) OS Mac OS X WebKit 535.19 (@114948) Flash 11.2.202.235 |
Author: Richard In my experience, failing shift-click is usually a result of Flash throwing an exception somewhere. Would you be able to have a try with the Debug Player (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Potlatch_2/Using_Flash_Debug_Player) and see if it reports anything? |
Author: Ollie I'm afraid that the log file isn't logging anything when I do the Shift-click action. The following possibly relevant messages appeared when I first loaded it up however: warning: unable to bind to property 'selected' on class 'net.systemeD.potlatch2.collections::Stylesheets' |
Author: Richard Hm, curious. Thanks for trying: no, the binding warnings won't make any difference. I would have expected to see an actual error but evidently not. I've not had any issues with Safari or Opera on OS X: just downloading Chrome now. Is there any specific location in OSM where this happens, or is it everywhere? |
Author: Richard Works fine for me with the same setup as you - same Chrome version, same OS, same Flash version. Odd. |
Author: Ollie Just tried in Firefox and see the same issue. Appears to happen anywhere on the map. If I Shift-click on the yellow line of a selected way (red dots, with yellow lines between them) then the red dots just flash off and on again. Exactly the same response as a normal click. Also can't Shift-click to select multiple items (for merging). |
Author: Richard Sounding much more like a Flash issue than a P2 one. Clutching at straws a bit here, but... What keyboard layout are you using? Have you tried removing the surrounding HTML (press "M" to maximise) in case any of that is for some bizarre reason overflowing the SWF area? |
Author: Ollie Keyboard is standard (British) layout. |
