crash on startup with no internet #1210
Comments
Author: koying The origin seems to be the same as #1196 |
Author: jpeterson[at]abinitio.com Still exists on 0.12 beta 4 Only if Yahoo is enabled, so not really critical. You can turn off Yahoo before going offline. Easy to repro -- pull the network cable and start merkaartor. I included a new drwatson log |
Author: koying Strange one... I only get it on mingw/windows and not even under GDB... |
Author: koying Looks like the problem started with 4.4.1. |
Author: jpeterson[at]abinitio.com There is a similar (possibly the same) problem if you disconnect from the net and then yahoo tries to download/redraw. This also crashes. repro: |
Author: jpeterson[at]abinitio.com resolved in mercaartor 0.12 rc1 |
Author: koying Actually, as stated above, it doesn't crash anymore because I downgraded the Qt version. Obviously, we'll have to move forward at one point and I'll keep this one open as to not forget the problem. |
Author: deejay1 Does this still happen with Qt 4.4.3 ? |
Author: Koying Minimum is 4.5.3, now |

If you have no ip connectivity, and run merkaator windows 0.12 beta 3 it crashes on startup. The dr watson log is included
I first found this after seeing another yahoo redraw crash (that took lots of edits with it :( ) and then I couldn't restart. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling.
Still failed, but then worked later that day ?? Eventually I noticed the connected/not connected ...
