[Submitted to the original trac issue database at 3.47pm, Sunday, 11th January 2009]

I am trying to use a local WMS server with address "localhost:8998".

But merkaartor never sends a request to the server.[[BR]]
Instead 3 queries to a NETBIOS name service (which does not exist on my
windows box) are sent with no reply:

144 10.913262 192.168.181.22 192.168.181.255 NBNS Name query NB LOCALHOST:8998<00>

After that nothing more happens regarding connects to the server.

I am using Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and Merkaartor 0.13-pre1.
