May I suggest

1/ that the help button be a bit more prominently
visible as e.g. a red "READ ME and HELP" button,
linking to the appropriate wiki page.[[BR]]

2/ If possible: every new user start in Play mode (say a few logins until explicitly reset by himself : options)[[BR]]

3/ If possible: remember per user fat ways and fat nodes setting, start in fine mode [[BR]]

4/ Consider concise help on the lower unused half of the screen, could that be context sensitive ? I will be happy to write the help texts...[[BR]]
