When you try to render a node with a style containing a ShieldSymbolizer, mapnik hangs using 100% CPU.
Observed with current Windows binaries.

Think you should submit a trac request at mapnik.org. There is nothing that I can actually do about it.

Shieldsymbolizer on a point hangs mapnik -- http://trac.mapnik.org/ticket/87

Resolution on mapnik's trac is set to fixed. Can't speak about the latest Windows binaries.

Fixed in mapnik six months ago. See mentioned mapnik ticket.
