When I edit a Wiki page, I get a bunch of convenince buttons for things like inserting a signature string.

When I edit a section of a page, I don't get those buttons.

Would it be possible to make them appear in both contexts? It's really useful to quickly add my userid and date when making a comment.

I have no idea - you're probably better off finding a wiki admin who knows something about MediaWiki and asking them ;-)

Both cases work here, but I do notice it suddenly jumps into existence after the pageload.
