[landcover] Mapnik tree rendering

Description

I would like to see Mapnik using some sort of tree pattern to distinguish forests and woods from areas of grass. At the moment Mapnik shows pine trees for landuse=forest areas and plain green for natural=wood areas. Osmarender does better and has two tree patterns: pine trees and deciduous trees (the latter for wood=deciduous).

I am submitting a deciduous forest pattern for use for either landuse=forest or natural=wood areas when the areas are declared as being deciduous. This raises the question as to whether we can have forest=deciduous, so I think I need to set up a Wiki discussion about this (I see the wood=deciduous tagging that I have been using is not an approved tag).

Replying to xylome:

I like your suggestion (and have noticed this is the sort of thing looks good on the hiking map). I am now suggesting a modification to the existing Mapnik forest pattern which matches what you have suggested but which keeps the pattern size and colours as they were.
