frank f_mohr[at]yahoo.de mailed this to the mailing list, need to check it out:

i'm still testing the XMLRPC interface and noticed different timestamps
for up-/downloaded trackpoints
All downloaded points have a timestamp with one day less than
the timestamp in the uploaded GPX file

As an example:

i uploaded this point

92.4239501953 2004-08-22T18:41:16Z

the matching point from the download is:

Point:
latitude = "49.810307"
longitude = "8.518556"
altitude = "92.424"
timestamp = "20040821T18:41:16"
horizontal_dilution = "-1.0"
vertical_dilution = "-1.0"
track_ID = "5"
quality = "255"
satellites = "0"
user = "FrankMohr[at]gmx.net"
last_time = "20050726T21:40:27"

This is clearly historic - we don't use XMLRPC anymore! Current GPX uploads seem to have the correct timestamps.
