FrankM: line width should be user defined. Also something like the '+'/'-' in the applet to change line/point (also raw points) thickness

Imi: JOSM is no beauty renderer. Maybe include other renderers like osmarender or freemap renderer (or even the applet renderer) could be an option. But I really like to keep the standard renderer as fast and clear as possible.

The requests for nicer drawing won't stop. It looks like many people want better renderers, not only to have the display look nicer but also to configure the visibility of components.
