[Submitted to the original trac issue database at 11.40am, Thursday, 11th May 2006]

When trying to edit the tags of a GPX file, if it has no description assigned to it then the changes to tags will not be saved.

If this is a feature because descriptions are compulsory, there should be an error message telling the user to add a description instead of just not saving anything. I don't think the description should be compulsory however.

[Added to the original trac issue at 11.32am, Wednesday, 16th May 2007]

The upload html is now at http://trac.openstreetmap.org/browser/sites/rails_port/app/views/trace/mine.rhtml and the upload itself is handled by the new ruby on rails code, so this bug report has been obsoleted. Sorry for not having applied the patch in time (I wasn't around back then).
