While I see there is some discussion on the wiki about amenity=kindergarten vs amenity=nursery vs amenity=preschool, amenity=kindergarten is a widely used tag probably because it is a JOSM preset. I noticed having used it for a nursery school near here though that the area doesn't render any background colour, though will show the name if I zoom in. I feel it would be an enhancement to render amenity=kindergarden in the same way as amenity=school

The example I mentioned in the ticket is Willow Tree Nursery here: http://osm.org/go/0EHnDB_0k--
I've not mapped any others to find any other examples, sorry.
The suggestion to use amenity=kindergarden for nursery schools is here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:amenity%3Dschool
The schools I was comparing with are here:

Though they also have building estimates included, which the nursery doesn't.
