If you use the "add the way to the last used relation" function in potlatch (shift-click on the relation button) it adds the object to all the relations from the last object, not just the relation you added to the last object.
Example: if you select way 1 which is already member of relation 10 and 11 and add it to relation 12, then select way 2 and press shift-click, it gets added to relation 10, 11 and 12, not just relation 12 (which is what I would expect and what IMHO can be the only sensible operation).

This is what's meant to happen. It isn't an "add the way to the last used relation" button, it's a "repeat relations" button. Maybe the former would be useful too, but that's a new feature not a problem with an existing one. :)

If that's what it is supposed to do, then I wonder what the practical use is. If I start adding a way to a relation, I would like to repeat that step, not add the next way to all the relations of the previous way.
Either way, the documentation of the keybard shortcuts should then be changed http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Potlatch/Keyboard_shortcuts says:
"Shift-click on the relation button to add the way to the last used relation."
That is clearly different from how it is programmed.
