There's already a large amount of bus, tram and train stops tagged according to the http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Oxomoa/Public_transport_schema

Please consider rendering the stop_positions equivalent to their existing pendants:

public_transport=stop_position + bus=yes => highway=bus_stop

public_transport=stop_position + rail=yes => railway=station

public_transport=stop_position + light_rail=yes => railway=station

public_transport=stop_position + tram=yes => railway=tram_stop

public_transport=stop_position + subway=yes => railway=station

public_transport=stop_position + monorail=yes => railway=station

Example area:
Along the primary road there are more stations tagged with p_t=stop_position + light_rail=yes as well as bus stations tagged with bus=yes http://osm.org/go/zY1mhwH1--

The meaning has changed a bit but the proposal was accepted. Have a look at [wiki:Proposed_features/Public_Transport new Public_Transport] schema.

Please support public_transport tags.
