I find myself frequently turning photo display on and off in order to make edits underneath the pictures.
It would be really helpful if each image automatically disappeared while the mouse pointer is over its area. (A bit like how some UI toolkits highlight their widgets when they are clickable, but in this case, it's more of an anti-highlight).
This would be incompatible with making the images active - perhaps there needs to be a preferences option to choose which behaviour the user likes?
