I hope the diaries tab is a part of potlach. If it isn't, please tell me where to post this or say it to an appropriate develloper.
When I read the diraies in potlach. I often zee double posts. Speeding up the servers to avoid this would be a great cost but there are other possibilities. Double posts always have the following thins in common:
A very small time between the posts (less than 2 minutes)
almost the same content (the easiest implementation would be 100% equal but a better impelmentation would be with a diff and checking for about 80% of the same characters)
I think that this two parameters would avoid a lot of the double posts.
Greets,
Sander

This is already covered by #2957. It's the same problem as #2963 in fact, and the solution is not to speed up any servers or to add any complicated duplicate detection - it's to fix the cache expiry issues that cause the delays.
Closing as a duplicate as any fix for #2957 will naturally cover diary entries as well as comments.
