If I search for "hume, portland, oregon", the nominatim finds most or possibly all segments of the Hume Street in Portland, OR. Below is a sample of these results. If I change the query to "hume street, portland, oregon", I'm getting only a single result, which is not even in Portland, OR (Hume Street, Brownsville, Benton, Oregon, United States of America).

Results for "hume, portland, oregon":

Southwest Hume Street, Burlingame, Portland, Washington, 97219, Oregon, United States of America

Southwest Hume Street, Capitol Hill, Portland, Washington, 97219, Oregon, United States of America

Southwest Hume Street, Multnomah Village, Portland, Washington, 97219, Oregon, United States of America

end of sample

How come?

Kind of fixed in [changeset:ac70726/nominatim].

Somewhere there is (or has been) an addr:housenumber=Portland which badly interfered with the search. The fix tries to address that but there are no guarantees that it helps in all cases.
