Some suggestions to improve the look of the map at http://labs.metacarta.com/osm/

Put a dark semi-transparent background along the bottom, behind location search, scale and everything below it.
Put a small OSM logo to the right of the cursors and links to help news and shop as on the osm slippy map.
Remove the border between the map and the browser window (not shown on attachment)

Metacarta's slippy map is not the same as the main OSM one.
