When you look into the history, you can get the coordinates for the deleted points and show a map of the position, which is then assumed to be located at the center. But this position is not very clear to see or distinguish.
I would like that on the map the coordinates are marked eg with a cross or a circle as the points. http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=51.5971327&lon=5.0635062&zoom=18

Rendering the historic position of a way is hard because of the need to work out which version of each node should be used. It's also relatively expensive to do.

Hi,
I would like that when showing a deleted way the way is rendered as with its last status with a red line or with a red circle for deleted points.
