PL2 doesn't have a way of removing a way from a node, but keeping the node itself.
The particular use case that needed this function was that a POI node had been incorrectly used as part of a way, and needed removing from the way without deleting. The work around would have been to copy all the tags from the old POI node, delete it and create a new, unattached one, but this would have taken longer and added to ID number churn.
