There are a number of instances of "rue Racine" in Paris. The one I am referring to extends from the intersection of Boulevard Saint-Michel and rue des Ecoles to Place de l'Odeon. When I search for "rue Racine" I get quite a few results, one of which is listed as follows:
This is certainly not a Service Road as there are numerous shops and restaurants/bistros on that street. This is perhaps the reason that this instance of "rue Racine" is not returned by the Dubbele, Paris Street Map, even though the street is shown on the map.
I contacted Dubbele and they pointed me in your direction.

This is an issue with the map data, not name search or a software bug. I will contact the person who made the street a "service road" for possible correction. I cannot look at dubbele but I assume their map rendering doesn't include service roads.

Yes, this is definitely not a namefinder bug but rather the way we tag streets. I'm the contributor who changed this highway section from "residential" to "service" + "service=alley". I'm usually doing this for narrowed streets like the one you mention because we don't have currently any tag fitting such way. Feel free to discuss that on the french mailing list, or with me directly (user "Pieren" in OSM) or change it directly if your firmly think that It's the wrong category.
