On those levels just a single fine blue dashed line would be enough.
On further zoom levels (<17) in addition to the blue lines, cyclepaths also have a gray surrounding road which is unnecessary and makes them again seem more important than normal roads.

Has this changed?
There is a motorway here (the A29), but no cycleways in the data. Do you mean that there is a central reservation in the middle of the motorway to separate the traffic going in opposite directions?
I'd recommend adding the oneway=yes to each direction.
As the rendering has changed, is this still a problem?

This is a double carriage way with seperate cyclepaths at both sides. While the roads are just single gray lines, the cyclepaths themselves are heavy dashed blue lines.
