area names (like park or commercial) seems to be suboptimal for zoomlevel 15. for example, compare zoomlevels 14-16 :

http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=30.4088&mlon=-97.7289&zoom=14&layers=M
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=30.4088&mlon=-97.7289&zoom=15&layers=M
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=30.4088&mlon=-97.7289&zoom=16&layers=M

notice how both park to the left & commercial landuse to the right display their names at zoomlevels 14 & 16, but do not have them at zoomlevel 15.

it would be preferred to have their names rendered also at zoomlevel 15.

The "mapnik" component in trac is for the old XML-based openstreetmap.xml stylesheets which are not deployed on OpenStreetMap.org. Since June the default style on OpenStreetMap.org has been openstreetmap-carto, which has its own issue tracker at https://github.com/gravitystorm/openstreetmap-carto/issues.

In thi scase it looks like there's a collision between labels at zoom 15. Frequently is not possible to render every possible label, the renderer has to make choices on what to render when there are collisions.
