edit: no need to login for remote control use #3804
Comments
Author: skyper Also, nice would be if you are not sent to the map but stay at the object page. Right now you have many unwanted map queries and if the editor is not running you always have to go back after the error message. |
Author: TomH Errr... Could you explain what the bug is that you are reporting? Only I don't really understand... |

Err..., why do I not get any mail about your comment ? Anyway the problem has been fixed. |

Strange it did work but is not anymore. I try to explain my problem: On the top menu, second from the left [edit] you have the possibility to edit with potlatch 1, potlatch2 and remote control. If you click on any entry, not logged in yet, you have to log in. This behaviour works for potlatch but is non-sense for remote control. Please, do not ask to log in, if using remote control to edit. Thanks |
Author: TomH OK. So this only happens when you are on a page other than the view or edit pages, as on those pages the edit menu is handled by javascript in the client. Using edit on other pages doesn't actually make much sense as you will have no idea what exactly you are going to be editing as it will edit the last area viewed and most people will have no idea what that was. To be honest the edit button should really be disabled on those pages. |
Author: TomH The edit tab is no longer active on these ages. Instead there are separate edit links under the map which work without the user being logged in. |

There is no need to login for editing if using remote control.
Thanks
