I think all edits should show up on a user's Changeset's page as long as there is something changed in it, even if no "bounding box" is stored with said changeset.

Just noticed this. If somebody makes an edit that doesn't store a "bounding box", it will not show up on their changesets list.
Here's an example:
NE2 did a tweak of a "super" relation that only has relations in it. When he did it, it didn't show up on his changeset list.
Here's said edit: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/8473084
And if you go to his edit's page, you don't see the edit listed there: http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/NE2/edits
