#4019 closed defect (invalid)

New users are given a proprietary map by default

Reported by: Wynndale Owned by: potlatch-dev@…
Priority: major Milestone:
Component: potlatch2 Version:
Keywords: Cc:

Description

The default Potlatch 2 background is being rendered as the Ordnance Survey 1:50000 map in parts of Britain. New users are likely to assume that the background is something they can legally trace from.

This seems to be a Bing bug - see the mailing list discussion.

It's pretty hard for us to do anything about it.

Yep - short of nuking the entire layer, we can't detect from within P2 whether the maps are proprietary or not! I've alerted Bing to what is clearly a Bing bug.
