When I click the "Edit node" or "Edit area" link on the browse page for a node, it doesn't follow my preferences and use Remote Control. I have to hover over the link, and select Remote Control in the popup.
I would expect the link to work like the edit tab - follow my preference unless I select something else in the popup.

If you mean that Potlatch 2 doesn't handle that link then that is a known issue as Potlatch 2 doesn't have support for that yet. That should be reported against potlatch.
I will look into the other issue under this ticket.

As a side-note, the page that loads when clicking the link (http://www.openstreetmap.org/edit?node=X) doesn't seem to work either.
