At the moment it's a bit of a pita to deploy potlatch2 on your own site, without having to install git and/or compile it yourself. The instructions currently suggest downloading a bunch of individual files.
Given the wonders of ant, this should be reasonably straightforward to fix with a zipfile - and we could keep an archive of point releases too.

How is that better than cloning the repository?
What Andy was suggesting was a way of providing an archive containing a prebuilt SWF file and all the other resources a running Potlatch needs, not an alternate way of downloading the source.
