I browse to the place I want to edit with the osmarender layer on www.openstreetmap.org
After having for the place, I switch to the editor. After this, I switch back to the "View" tab, but the information that I was using the osmarender layer is lost. I now see the mapnik tiles which just tell me "More OSM coming soon".

The current version of openlayers already in place allows for passing the layer by means of the URL "view" just has to handle the "layers" parameter along with the lat and lon.
i.e. layers=0B for the second of 2 layers (currently osmarender)
