I do not like absolutely the new dropdown menu, because the option to view the object data disappeared. Before it was possible to see "at a glance" via object history or object details which user modified when a certain object, or to see any other object or relation metadata that are of interest. Now the users have to open JOSM or Potlatch prior to see these metadata? Please let the things more simple!

Please revert the dropdown menu to the former version as long as you do not integrate the data interface to the menu.

Sincerely,
leodobrasil

Hey there,

The Data layer is still accessible, under the Edit tab of the homepage. It has moved until it can be treated as a layer of the same type as the others. If you'd like to improve the data layer and/or its representation in the switcher, submit a pull request to http://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website .

As Tom (the other one...) says it hasn't been removed, just moved.

Ok, thank you for the hint where to find now the data "layer". Really it would not make any sense to remove such a useful tool.

Thank you for explaining how to submit improvements.
