geonames queries returns an error:
Error contacting ws.geonames.org: getaddrinfo: Name or service not known
investigating geonames' forum I see that someoneelse had already complained about the error and what do I read there?
The ws.geonames.org domain has been deprecated and replaced by the api.geonames.org domain: http://geonames.wordpress.com/2011/01/28/application-identification-for-free-geonames-web-services/

So I guess we should also change from api to ws.
