On the homepage search for "Guernsey" and click on the country link. It leads here:
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?minlon=-2.494854221344&minlat=49.570436706543&maxlon=-2.4748539829254&maxlat=49.59044052124

And there's nothing by water there...

[Added to the original trac issue at 2.54pm, Thursday, 14th June 2012]

This is a data error. Somebody has put the place node for Guernsey in the middle of the channel: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/1607605918

Move it somewhere where it makes more sense.

As a side node: there is a fix pending that will unify the search results for the country boundary and the place node. Will be deployed after the license change.
