[Submitted to the original trac issue database at 3.49pm, Tuesday, 1st January 2013]

If one searches on http://www.openstreetmap.org/ for, e.g., "10.354, 010.374", this is recognized as longitude/latitude.

However, other common versions like "10.354 N, 010.374 E", "10.354 N, 010.374 E", "1035.4' N, 01037.4' E" aren't.
