The functionality at the original OpenStreetBugs site to have a look at the popups by just hovering over the red + I find it much more convenient than the how "add a note" on osm.org works at the moment: here you have to click on the marker to see the note.

There's a couple of problems with this...
The first is that the interaction of this and the autopanning of the map to make space for the popup is quite distracting - every time you go near a marker you run the risk of the map suddenly moving so that the popup can show.
The second is that, as things stand, leaflet doesn't cope well at all because the mouseover fires and I open the popup, which causes the map (and marker) to move, which causes the mouseout to fire, which causes the popup to disappear again...

Doesn't autopanning should only start when the popup is so large it doesn't fit to the map?[[BR]]
openstreetbugs.org behaves this way and is quite comfortable to use (yes, it uses OL).
