Currently there is just an short hint at the [https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Notes#RSS_feed notes wikipage], that there is an RSS feed for monitoring areas available. As we want to encourage our community to watch for such hints and give the contributors ASAP feedback on their hint, we should make this RSS feed more comfortable.

Some ideas:

  • link/embedd this RSS feed for the current map area, if the user enabled the notes layer
  • use an assistant like for export to manually create feeds for custom areas
  • add an 'new notes in your edited areas' view at the user profile (or the own notes page)

I think this is a building block if we want to offer good feedback

This bug still persists. My TTRSS service reports:

MagpieRSS: Failed to parse RSS file. (Not well-formed (invalid token) at line 1, column 1)

for that URL that is parsed fine by Firefox:[[BR]]
http://api.openstreetmap.org/api/0.6/notes/feed?bbox=11.1785889,53.5378591,11.68396,53.8541467

As OSB is ongoing migrated, we want users to help us to monitor all the notes, so I recommend to address this small bug/enhancement.

I've checked the validity of the feed, and it's shown as valid using https://validator.w3.org/feed

As for the feature requests in the original summary, they sound like good ideas, and thank you for suggesting them. However, we don't have any plans to implement them at this time.
