Since the latest substation refinement,
power=substation
is the correct tag for substations.

deprecated power=station|sub_station
should be displayed only for a transitional period of several months.

In very special cases,
power=converter (for HVDC lines) and
power=compensator
are introduced. Even if they have a different technical function than substations, they may be displayed in a similar way on a general map like Mapnik.
