Hi, three parts;
First: is it possible to upload to the server a private OSM file to be shared by URL among several users?
Couldn't find. If not, could it be?
Second: if contributors were able to update that OSM file much as the main map with the API, it could act as a tremendous task sharing process.
Third: basic rendering the private OSM file data much like the main map would be a plus but it's not necessary.
Typical scenario.
Map data is imported to an OSM file, such as bus lines and bus stops.
The file contains ready to use data, or almost, but it must be integrated under human supervision.
Each contributor opens the file as a layer recognized as updatable by software like JOSM.
He picks a map element, merges it to the main map, makes possible updates, updates the main map and (only then, discipline needed) deletes it from the private OSM file.
Et voil, the task completion has been acknowledged.
I'm almost sure that JOSM would be enthusiastic about this. Contributors certainly.
TIA !!!
