Reported by: _al Owned by: geocoding@…
Priority: minor Milestone:
Component: nominatim Version:
Keywords: admin_boundary municipality Cc:

Description

http://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/details.php?place_id=2593921530

This in truth is

  • house number "5"
  • in street "Römerweg"
  • within village "Rennersdorf" (Ortschaft, Katastralgemeinde)
  • within municipality "Ober-Grafendorf" (Marktgemeinde)
  • with postal code "3200"

... rest is ok (Bezirk: St.Pölten Land, Bundesland: NÖ, Land: AT)

Why is Ober-Grafendorf greyed out?

Another example:

http://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/details.php?place_id=2595681114

  • 5 (house number refers to hamlet Hochstraß)
  • Tritthof (Einzelgehöft)
  • Hochstraß (Ortschaft)
  • Gemeinde Wilhelmsburg
  • PLZ 3150
  • Bezirk St. Pölten Land

Due to the admin_level of the Ober-Grafendorf boundary, it is also classified village and there can only be one village per address. This is a known issue with Nominatim's current one-size-fits-all approach to hierarchy computation.
