Since PostGIS 2.2.0 the Java support has been split off into its own project [https://github.com/postgis/postgis-java postgis-java] because it was no longer actively maintained by the PostGIS developers. The postgis-java project is now maintained by [https://github.com/phillipross Phillip Ross].

This weekend new uploads of [https://github.com/postgis/postgis-java/releases/tag/v2.1.7.2 version 2.1.7.2] to [https://oss.sonatype.org/#nexus-search;checksum~bea2eadb21791f29518e540a7d17e277a4c53fee sonatype OSSRH] and [https://search.maven.org/#artifactdetails|net.postgis|postgis-jdbc|2.1.7.2|jar maven central] were made that should be considered for use by osmosis.

Among the changes in v2.1.7.2 affecting osmosis is the change of the groupId from org.postgis to net.postgis, this needs to be changed throughout the osmosis source tree.

Currently osmosis still relies on the deprecated 1.3.3 version of postgis-jdbc, this should also be updated to 2.1.7.2. The osmosis Debian package has been successfully using postgis-jdbc 2.1.x for some time already.
