In openstreetmap, the legend corresponding to the cycle layer shows a blue square with a white C in it.

In reality, it can be the latter or just a blue square. It confuses many users in our group, especially the ones who are not so familiar with IT.

The blue square (without the white C) should also be mentioned in the legend.
