As far as I can see maplint doesn't complain about this. Could you point me to an area where I could download some data where you have observed this error?

Could it just be that the tile you have seen this error on is rendered with an old version that still uses the old unknown-tag test?

That's the old unknown-tags test. According to info.php it's rendered by user 223 Ludovic, so apparently he hasn't updated his client since r4549 was commited (09/12/07 21:51:16).

I've now started a local render job on that tile with an updated client.
