#584 closed enhancement (fixed)

rendering tram at residential-highway

Reported by: bahnpirat Owned by: jburgess777@…
Priority: minor Milestone:
Component: mapnik Version:
Keywords: railway, tramway, tram Cc:

Description

Situation: A tramway is in/on a street (key:highway). So I tag the way with highway:residential and railway:tram. I did not use seperated ways for this. Mapnik renders tramways on highway:secondary, but not on residential streets. How can this be fix? Osmarender work correct with this situation.

Can you give me the coordinates (or a URL on the slippy map) for an example?

highway:residential (street and tram stations: yes, tramway: not) - http://www.openstreetmap.org/index.html?lat=52.52&lon=13.502&zoom=16

Just to compare it with an functional version of this methode... highway:secondary (works in Mapnik) - http://www.openstreetmap.org/index.html?lat=52.46&lon=13.53&zoom=15

I don't think this is a problem with the date. This should be a problem of Mapnik software.

I think is because tram lines are drawn as part of the "roads" style but residential roads are drawn as part of the "minor-roads" style which comes after the roads style and is therefore rendered on top of it.

Jon - any ideas how to fix this? It isn't obvious to me what the best solution is...

Looking at the given URL tramways are now rendered on highway:residential

Should this bug be closed?
