Options:

  • rewrite renderer for every new app like Freemap which comes along
  • or (better) specify a tag for streets, and render everything else differently

Does Nick's Freemap already tag streets differently to paths? Can we just use that?

We are using the mapnik renderer and osmarender now which do a very good job at rendering different things differently. Closing this one.
