This seems to be an issue with the t@h server - should probably return transparent at such low zoom levels for maplint.

So where exactly did that magic number come from? Is there no easier way of specifying a minimum zoom level? What happened to the idea of fixing the server not to be so stupid?

I don't think so, looking at the OL docs, I got the magic number by checking which resolution the minimum zoom level responded too.

It could be possible to refer to the scale array directly.

Change to numZoomLevels also fixes grey maplint tiles at resolutions >16

In #openlayers, three suggestions alternative to minScale were suggested, minResolution, setting the resolutions array or setting the scales array.

Each of these also involves magic numbers, the resolutions and scales arrays being most hackish. I had tried minResolution, but it didn't seem to work.

This seems to work fine now
