In respect of power tags on the map,
is
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c7/Lightning_Symbol.svg PD license
any use in marking power plant buildings, substations and transmission lines?

I would recommend changing the colour depending on the context and voltage..

Open Issues:

  • Is there a standard colour code for lo vs High voltage?
  • This is intended for large power infrastructure... How to mark small scale infrastructure like power hookup points for boats etc (if included on the map)?
  • Is the sysmbol actually subject to copyrights? (file is PD), but symbol may be a BS one?

Thanks for reading...

Revision 17992 introduces better rendering of power generators. Substations and stations are not rendered yet but will follow. Re line coding I'd need hints and advice from people who work with power equipment. How is voltage (or importance) indicated on your maps?

(In [20608]) Make power=station render like sub_stations (wasn't rendered before).
That means that we render all the common power tags (more then 1000
uses). Closes #697
