How about the typical plus-in-a-square expander button to the left of the entries. If you click it you replace the entry with the full contextualised entry. minus-in-a-square shrinks it again. This would be easy javascript, or if you really wanted to do it on the server, I'm sure a session variable would avoid the need for searching twice.

If you had that you could drop the distance and direction in the short form, making it quite a lot shorter, just putting in the places; hence...
