Since people use obviously(?) often tags which are not part of the preset (see other trac entries for this) one could imagine having potlatch to support autocompletion also for the values I've entered.
To encourage people of using the limited default preset it could offer those first, and only upon the next character the ones learned from the user. (I'm aware of the "Repeat tags" feature)
