Add more SVG POI icons to the built-in styles #853
Comments
Author: koying Was about to implement this but looks like it works. Could you confirm? |
Author: stoecker Probably loading works. I did not mean implement loading SVG's only, but also to integrate the icons into the supplied display schemes to have a more complete display of POI's :-) |
Author: koying Ah, ok. Not my part, reassigning to Collin. |
Author: ColinMarquardt You might have seen this already, but there is a new style MapnikPlus where I'm added (and am still adding) new icons. |
Author: bart[at]vanhauwaert.org As far as I can tell, loading svg icons didn't work before. It should since r10027 though. In the style editor if you use a iconname ending in .svg it is interpreted as a SVG (obviously) and rendered as a 32x32 icon. Not sure if that is the appropriate size? |
Author: ColinMarquardt Sorry, I was using PNG icons (not SVG) indeed. I think 16x16 would be a better default size. Ideally you could specify the size per icon though (think e.g. a tram stop icon which would be a dot of maybe 4 pixels). |
Author: bart[at]vanhauwaert.org Replying to [comment:6 ColinMarquardt]:
That sounds reasonable, I opened #1119 for that one. Another problem it seems with some of the svg icons is that they are drawn with quite some whitespace around them. I guess the only solution is to fix the icon in that case. |
Author: koying I guess we can close this one. |

Add SVG-Icon-Support using icons from
svn.openstreetmap.org/applications/share/map-icons/svg/
to extend the displayed Icons a lot.
