Continuing an existing road with its properties (tags) should be easier since this is a very common task in rarly mapped areas.
Currently you have to create a new road starting at the endpoint of the existing road, draw the new road, select both roads and finally join them to inherit the existing tags.
Proposal:
Selecting a road together with a node (just like for split road), where the node has just this one road going to, enables a new "Continue" command in the Road menu. As a result new segments to the existing roads can be drawn already having the same tags. A new separate road must not be created since later joining should be avoided.
Just one step easier would be selecting just this node to start that procedure. If the node has just one road the user most likely wants to continue that road.
